Richard S. Granat is the CEO and founder of Epoq, US, Inc. He also is the Managing Partner of Granat Legal Services, P.C. the first virtual law firm in the state of Maryland. He is also Co-Chair of the eLawyering Task Force, Law Practice Management Section, ABA and serves as a member of the ABA's Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services. Mr. Granat was one of 50 "Legal Rebels", named by the ABA Journal in 2009 as individuals working on the leading edge of change and the practice of law. In 2010, he received the Louis M. Brown Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovation in the Delivery of Legal Services from the ABA. Mr. Granat is a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management and the American Bar Foundation. He is an acknowledged expert on the intersection of the Internet and the delivery of legal services. He is the author of a blog on elawyering which is widely read in the US and internationally.

He earned his J.D. in 1965 from Columbia University Law School, (with Honors), an M.S. in Organization Development, (with Honors), from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990, and a B.A, cum laude, from Lehigh University in 1962. He is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland. He has taught Law Practice Management and Computer Applications and the Law at University of Maryland Law School, the District of Columbia Law School, and Rutgers School of Law.
