Lasting Power of Attorney - Property and affairs

This Power of Attorney will give another person the power to manage your financial affairs (such as control of bank accounts and bill payments) in the event you someday lose the capacity to do so yourself, perhaps through an accident or through the onset of a medical condition such as dementia.

Lasting Power of Attorney - Personal welfare

This Power of Attorney will give another person the power to manage your social and health care needs in the event you someday lose the capacity to do so yourself. This includes everyday decisions, including what you will eat and wear, but can also encompass decisions about what medical care you will receive - or even whether or not you will receive life-sustaining treatment.

General Power of Attorney

Granting a general Power of Attorney gives another person the authority to manage your financial affairs for a set period of time, for example, whilst overseas for a couple of years. It cannot be used in cases where you lack the capacity to make these decisions for yourself.
